Run Up To Siena!

Five Days To Go!

overcast

I'm finally starting to get excited about travelling to Italy by myself!

It's a mixture of feelings really: excitement, apprehension and nervousness all at the same time!

Everything I need to do has pretty much been done, other than packing - that I will do over the next few days in time for my Saturday flight...

Will spend Saturday night in Milan and then jump on a train to Siena on Sunday morning....once I'm in Siena, I will meet up with other foreign students of Italian who will be studying there. My good friend from uni will also be making her way there then (Flora, known on Traveller's Point as florinion)...

Really looking forward to the train journey alone, seeing all the beautiful countryside with cypress trees and vineyards along the way! Also looking forward to meeting so many people, making so many new friends and having a whole month to become accustomed to the locals' way of life...quite sure I will miss it and won't want to leave.........

This is about it for my thoughts during the run up to Siena (I will be studying at Siena University for the whole of August)...Ciao for now tutti...

Have a great time Aquarianna! :) I've travelled around Italy by myself a lot and Ive never had any problems. It's a fantastic country. The train rides from Lombardy down through the Po plain and Tuscany are really amazing.

You will find yourself drawn back to Italy again and again, I bet. ;)

Ciao!
